SHASHTI
In Hinduism, Shashti (the sixth day of the lunar fortnight) is significant due to its association with the goddess Shashti, who is worshipped on this day, particularly on the sixth day after childbirth, to protect the newborn. This practice is rooted in the belief that newborns are vulnerable to diseases and that Shashti Puja, a ritual worshipping Shashti, can ward off such ailments. Over time, Shashti’s character has evolved from a malevolent figure to a benevolent protector.
