The Melbourne Murugan Temple, located in Sunshine in Melbourne’s western suburbs, is a sacred place of worship established by devoted followers of Lord Murugan with the vision of creating a spiritual home for the community.

The journey to build the temple began in 1995 with the formation of a trust, and the first stage of construction was successfully completed in January 1999.

Today, the temple is home to the divine statues of Lord Murugan with Teyvanai and Valli, along with Lord Vinayakar. The temple also enshrines the Navagrahas, and daily pujas and abhishekams are conducted by the resident priest.

Managed by the Melbourne Murugan Cultural Centre, the temple continues to serve the spiritual and cultural needs of the community while working towards the vision of constructing a fully traditional-style temple in the near future.

Over the years, the temple has grown into an important spiritual and cultural hub, welcoming devotees and visitors from across Melbourne and beyond.
