THIRUKALYANAM
Thirukalyanam (also spelled Thirukkalyanam) is a sacred Hindu ritual that reenacts or celebrates the divine marriage (kalyanam) of gods and goddesses. The word comes from Tamil:
“Thiru” = holy or sacred
“Kalyanam” = marriage or wedding
So, Thirukalyanam means “divine or sacred wedding“.
🕉️ What is Thirukalyanam?
Thirukalyanam is not an ordinary wedding. It is the symbolic marriage ceremony of deities, performed with great devotion, rituals, and celebration in temples. It signifies the divine union of male and female energies, often representing cosmic balance, prosperity, fertility, and harmony.
