AAVANI ONAM

AAVANI ONAM, also known as Avani Avittam, is a significant Hindu ritual observed in the Tamil month of Avani, under the star Avittam. It involves changing the sacred thread (Poonal) and is celebrated by specific sects, particularly those following the Yajur Veda, during the Pournami day of Shravana month, according to The Hindu. The ritual aims to seek knowledge, wisdom, and blessings from Lord Narayana.
